In April 2023, Ukrainians, including pensioners who receive social benefits, will receive special financial assistance in the amount of UAH 1,500. This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Who will receive assistance
According to official figures, financial support will be provided to those who need it most. This applies not only to pensioners, but also to those Ukrainians who receive social benefits. Zelensky underlined the importance of assistance in times of economic instability.
Consumer support programme
The Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine also intend to introduce a support programme for people who are under pressure due to the destabilisation of the fuel market. The programme will be aimed at consumers of diesel, petrol and automotive gas in Ukraine and will be implemented through a cashback system. This will help to offset part of the fuel costs, which will be an important step in supporting Ukrainians.
The importance of timely assistance
Experts note that the introduced UAH 1500 and fuel cashback can significantly ease the financial burden on citizens. Zelensky stressed that government agencies are working to create conditions for economic stability and support the population in difficult times.
