However, the NBU’s official exchange rate does not mean that Ukrainians can buy dollars at the same price at bank counters. Commercial banks and currency exchange bureaux set their own buying and selling rates for foreign currency.
The dollar exchange rate at PrivatBank, Oschadbank, PUMB and Sense Bank
According to the «Minfin» portal, on 26 October, banks continued to raise their cash dollar selling rates. As at approximately 11.40, the largest financial institutions were offering the following rates:

Exchange rates may fluctuate throughout the day, so the actual currency price depends on the bank, the branch and the time of the transaction.
The dollar’s exchange rate on the black market has already exceeded 46 hryvnias
Even higher rates are seen for certain card transactions. In particular, on 26 October, Sense Bank set the selling rate for the US dollar for card transactions at 45.99 UAH, whilst Raiffeisen Bank set it at 46.11 UAH.
The difference between cash and card exchange rates depends on the rules of the specific bank, the type of transaction and any additional fees that may apply.
It is important to bear in mind that exchange rates displayed on cards do not always mean that you can purchase the currency directly at the stated price. They may be applied during currency conversion when paying for purchases or carrying out other transactions.
For Ukrainians who pay for goods from foreign online shops or for overseas services in US dollars, the actual exchange rate at the time of payment may differ from the official rate set by the NBU.
What is happening to the exchange rate on the interbank market?
The US currency is also rising in value on the interbank market.

On the interbank market, financial institutions buy and sell foreign currency, and its quoted rates serve as one of the key benchmarks for setting bank exchange rates.
Despite the official exchange rate reaching a new all-time high, the 46 hryvnia per dollar mark has so far only been exceeded by certain commercial quotes. The NBU’s official exchange rate remains below this level.
