President of Poland Andrzej Duda approved a law providing for amnesty for Polish citizens who fought in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The law applies to persons who took part in hostilities against Russian aggression.

Polish President Andrzej Duda has signed a law granting amnesty to Poles who took part in hostilities on the side of Ukraine. The relevant document has already entered into force.
The law concerns Polish citizens who fought in the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other Ukrainian formations against Russian aggression.
Terms of the amnesty
According to the law, the amnesty applies to persons who:
- participated in hostilities on the side of Ukraine,
- did not commit serious crimes,
- are not under investigation for other criminal offences.
The amnesty does not apply to persons who have committed serious crimes or violated international law.
