Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Abbas Araghchi in a post on social media today emphasised that his country remains open to participating in peace talks to be organised by Pakistan. According to Araghchi, Iran ‘has never refused to go to Islamabad’ to discuss ways to end the war in the Middle East.

Pakistan prepares to become a platform for dialogue

Last week, Pakistan announced its intention to hold talks between the United States and Iran, but the date of the meeting has not yet been set. Araghchi expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for its peacekeeping initiatives and stressed that the conditions for a final and lasting end to the illegal war imposed on the country are important for Iran.

Criticism of the American media

Abbas Araghchi also accused the US media of distorting Iran's position on participation in the talks. He stressed that Tehran seeks transparency and constructive dialogue for the sake of stability in the region.
