A Russian drone attacked a non-residential building in the Shostka community of Sumy region. The building sustained significant damage as a result of the attack.
The attack was followed by a large-scale fire that covered an area of 1,500 square metres. Local authorities reported serious consequences for the infrastructure.
Rescuers' work under threat of new attacks
Firefighters had to repeatedly suspend firefighting operations due to the risk of repeated attacks. Nevertheless, the rescuers were able to completely extinguish the fire.
The high fire load complicated the work, but thanks to coordinated actions, the fire was prevented from spreading to other facilities.
Lack of information about the victims
At the time of publication, no casualties were reported. The authorities are urging residents to take safety precautions and respond promptly to alarms.
Earlier, similar cases were recorded in Sumy region attacks with the use of UAVs, which led to destruction and fires.
