Training activities for the Ukrainian Armed Forces are taking place in Poland as part of the EUMAM Ukraine mission. The training is conducted under the guidance of international instructors and covers a wide range of specialised courses.
Training within EUMAM Ukraine
Training for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is underway in Poland as part of the European Union Military Assistance Mission Ukraine (EUMAM). Servicemen are being trained under the guidance of international instructors from the Combined Arms Training Command (CAT-C). A total of nine specialised courses are currently in operation.
Training is organised on an ongoing basis in cooperation with foreign partners. This allows Ukrainian defenders to quickly learn new skills and return to combat missions.
Medical course led by instructors from Belgium
One of the key specialised courses, a medical course conducted by instructors from Belgium, has recently been completed. The soldiers received the necessary training to provide assistance on the battlefield, which increases their ability to act in extreme conditions.
Medical training remains one of the priorities in the training system, as it helps to preserve the lives and health of personnel during hostilities.
Firearms training and training in urban environments
In addition to medical courses, firearms training is also ongoing in Poland. Servicemen practice shooting from the main types of small arms, including on the move, in conditions of limited visibility and under enemy fire.
Particular attention is paid to preparing for actions in urban areas: assault operations in trenches and rooms, clearing buildings, moving in small groups and interaction of assault groups in difficult conditions of limited space.
Poland as a key training hub
The Republic of Poland plays a key role in the implementation of EUMAM Ukraine's mission for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Its developed military infrastructure and strategic commitment to the security of Europe's eastern flank make Poland an indispensable training ground for the Ukrainian military.
Thanks to cooperation with EU member states, Ukrainian servicemen and women have access to specialised knowledge and experience, which helps to improve their combat readiness.
