In Kyiv, a 53-year-old man was served a notice of suspicion of fraud worth over UAH 1.4 million. According to the investigation, he organised a scheme to sell drones and ammunition without delivering the goods to customers. The suspect was taken into custody with an alternative to bail.
Notification of suspicion
The Holosiivskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv has served a notice of suspicion to a 53-year-old Kyiv resident of fraud on a large scale. The man is charged with ч. 5 Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, in 2022, the suspect created a scheme to sell FPV drones, The money was transferred to the account of the individual entrepreneur controlled by the company. Orders were accepted through the website and social media, and funds were transferred to the account of the individual entrepreneur.
Fraud scheme
Customers made prepayments or full payments for goods they did not receive. To create the appearance of good faith, some customers were partially refunded.
The investigation identified 9 victims, including two servicemen. The total amount of losses exceeds UAH 1.4 million.
Precautionary measure
The suspect was chosen as a measure of restraint in the form of custody with an alternative of bail in the amount of almost UAH 1 million. The investigation is ongoing.
According to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
