Russia attacks Donetsk region: wounded civilians and destruction

Over the past 24 hours, Donetsk region suffered 18 Russian attacks. Civilians from different communities in the region were among the victims.

Four civilians in Donetsk region were injured as a result of 18 Russian shelling. This was reported by Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration. Residential buildings, cars, a shop and high-rise buildings were damaged.

According to the head of the Donetsk regional military administration Vadim Filashkin, Over the last day, 18 Russian attacks were carried out in the region. As a result of the attacks civilians were affected in several settlements of the region. Most of the destruction was recorded in Pokrovsk and Kramatorsk districts, where shelling resulted in injuries and damage to infrastructure. In particular, a person was injured and a car damaged in Dobropillia of Kryvyi Rih community, and a private house was destroyed and another car was damaged in Sloviansk.

In addition, shelling damaged a truck in Shavrove of the Oleksandrivka community, and in Druzhkivka, two people were wounded, three multi-storey buildings, a private house and two cars were damaged. In Kostiantynivka, there was also a wounded person and a damaged car.

Evacuation of residents from frontline areas

According to Vadym Filashkin, civilians are being evacuated from the settlements located near the frontline. Over the past 24 hours, 421 people, including 74 children, have been evacuated. The evacuation is being carried out under the control of local authorities and rescue services to minimise risks to civilians and prevent new civilian casualties.

Local authorities are urging residents not to ignore the danger warnings and to follow evacuation instructions. Particular attention is being paid to families with children and the elderly, who are most in need of assistance in such circumstances.

The head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration stressed the importance of prompt assistance to the victims and restoration of damaged facilities. Emergency services are now working at the sites of the destruction to record the extent of the damage and provide the necessary support to the victims.
