The highest daily figures among the categories listed relate to operational-tactical drones — 1,914 units, motor vehicles and tankers — 526, and artillery systems — 85. The General Staff also reported the loss of one aircraft, five cruise missiles, 11 ground-based robotic systems and four units of specialist equipment.

In the evening summary On 17 July, the General Staff reported 229 combat engagements since the start of the day. The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Pokrovsk sector — 34. There were 23 attacks in the Sloviansk sector and 22 in the Huliaipole sector.
The General Staff also reported 68 air strikes, 175 guided bombs dropped, 6,231 kamikaze drones deployed and 2,225 attacks on positions and populated areas. The high number of engagements forms the operational backdrop for the daily assessment of losses; however, the General Staff does not break these down by sector.
The ministry noted that the figures are being finalised. According to the General Staff, the total estimated losses of the Russian army since the start of the full-scale invasion include 12,151 tanks, 24,956 armoured fighting vehicles and 46,169 artillery systems.
