Sony has unveiled the final trailer for the superhero film *Spider-Man: A Brand New Day*, which continues Peter Parker’s story following *No Way Home*. The film, starring Tom Holland in the lead role, was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. The US cinema release is scheduled for 31 July 2026.

According to the official synopsis, following the events of *Spider-Man: No Way Home*, Peter devotes himself entirely to fighting crime in New York. His former friends carry on with their lives, having no recollection of the hero’s true identity.
This loneliness becomes part of the central conflict. The pain of losing his normal life and the constant struggle against crime set in motion changes in Peter that he cannot control.
The trailer adds to Galka’s story and introduces an invisible threat
Final video It revisits key moments from the previous trilogy featuring Holland, whilst also showcasing new scenes with Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo. The trailer also features an as-yet-unidentified, powerful villain.
The official synopsis describes this threat as someone whom no one can see. Peter seems to be the only one capable of sensing him, and an uncontrollable change within the hero himself may prove to be the answer to this new danger. The creators have not revealed the name of this antagonist.
Sony has also confirmed that Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman and Michael Mando will star in the film. The screenplay was written by Chris McKenna and Eric Sommers.
The hero’s standalone story doesn’t shy away from crossovers
The film’s storyline marks a new chapter for Peter Parker: he no longer has the support of the people who knew him before, but continues to act as Spider-Man. At the same time, Benner’s appearance in the trailer suggests that this personal story will unfold within the wider Marvel universe.
At CinemaCon, Holland described the film as the most emotional and mature instalment in the series. There, Sony showed a scene in which Peter turns up at Michelle Jones and Ned Leeds’s housewarming party and introduces himself to them as a neighbour — a continuation of the aftermath of the finale of *No Way Home*.
On the Sony website, the film is rated PG-13 due to action and violence scenes and strong language. Release dates may vary in certain international territories, whilst in the US the film is scheduled for release on 31 July.
