What passengers should do
Due to significant disruptions to the timetable, passengers due to travel on 8 August should check the status of their journey just before arriving at the station.
This is particularly true for those who, upon arrival, need to change to another train, bus or international transport. A delay of several hours on the first journey can completely alter the rest of the itinerary.
It is also worth keeping an eye on announcements at stations and updates from the transport operator, as the estimated time of arrival may be subject to change.
The situation regarding delays may change
The scale of the current delays is considerable: on some routes, the delay compared to the timetable is as much as half a day.
For passengers, the current status of a particular train remains crucial, as the situation on the routes can change rapidly, and some passengers may be transported by alternative means of transport.
Information regarding the causes of the delays and the timeframe for the full resumption of services is currently being clarified.
