On the night of 16 August, Russia launched a combined attack on Ukraine using various types of missiles and 106 drones. According to preliminary data as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence forces shot down or neutralised 88 targets. Hits by air attack weapons were recorded at 13 locations, with debris found at a further three.

Missiles and 106 drones
The air raid began at 18:00 on 15 August. Russia attacked Kyiv, Kremenchuk and Kryvyi Rih. The main targets of the attack were the Kyiv, Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
The attack involved the use of «Onyx» anti-ship missiles, «Iskander-M»/S-400/KN-23 ballistic missiles, X-59/69 guided air-to-surface missiles and Shahed attack UAVs, including jet-powered ones, «Gerbera» and «Parody» decoy drones. Ballistic missiles were launched from the Kursk, Bryansk and Voronezh regions of the Russian Federation, whilst the Kh-59/69 missiles were launched from the airspace of the temporarily occupied territories (TOT) of the Kherson and Belgorod regions. The drones were approaching from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Orel, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
Air defence forces neutralised 88 targets, with hits recorded at 13 locations
As of 08:00, air defences had shot down or intercepted three X-59/69 guided air-to-ground missiles and 85 unmanned aerial vehicles of the Shahed and «Gerbera» types, as well as other types of drones. The targets were neutralised in the north, south, east and centre of the country.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups, were deployed to repel the attack. Air strikes were recorded at 13 locations, whilst downed targets or debris were found at three. The attack continued: several enemy UAVs remained in the airspace.
