Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Defence Forces have eliminated approximately 1,210 Russian servicemen, 55 artillery systems and 1,962 operational-tactical-level drones. Total Russian personnel losses since the start of the full-scale invasion have reached nearly 1.47 million. This is according to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of the morning of 18 August 2026.

Pros. data According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on 17 August the Ukrainian Defence Forces neutralised a further 1,210 Russian servicemen.
The Russian army continues to suffer significant losses in artillery and unmanned aerial systems. In the space of a single day, 55 artillery systems and 1,962 operational-tactical-level UAVs were destroyed.
Russian forces also lost 2 tanks, 7 armoured fighting vehicles, 3 multiple launch rocket systems and 5 air defence systems.
Losses in the logistics sector were particularly heavy — 443 vehicles and tankers were destroyed in a single day. In addition, seven units of specialist equipment were lost, along with 19 ground-based robotic systems.

From the start of the full-scale Russian invasion on 24 February 2022 until 18 August 2026, the estimated enemy combat losses are as follows:

Russia suffered the greatest losses in UAVs and motor vehicles over the past 24 hours
One of the most notable developments over the past 24 hours was the loss of Russian drones — General Staff reports that 1,962 operational-tactical-level UAVs have been destroyed. The total number of such UAVs lost by Russia since the start of the invasion has exceeded 467,000.
Losses among Russian artillery units also remain high. Following the destruction of a further 55 systems, their total number has reached 48,155.
At the same time, the number of vehicles and tankers lost rose by 443 in a single day — to 135,891.
The General Staff emphasises that the figures given are approximate. Due to the intensity of the fighting, information on the Russian army’s casualties is being refined and updated.
