On the night of 24 August, drones attacked a large Ozon logistics centre in Dagestan. The facility in question is a complex in the «Tyube» industrial park in the Kumtorkalinsky District, covering an area of around 130,000 m². A massive fire broke out on the site following the strike, and several employees were injured. Ozon itself confirmed the attack and the evacuation of staff.
An Ozon logistics centre was attacked in Dagestan
Residents of the Kumtor-Kalynsky district reported hearing explosions during the night, following which a huge column of black smoke rose above the industrial zone. The ASTRA OSINT project identified the location of the fire as a logistics complex based on eyewitness videos Ozon at the «Tyube» industrial park.
The company itself stated that at around five o’clock in the morning, its logistics centre in Dagestan came under attack from a UAV. Staff were promptly evacuated. According to preliminary reports, several people were injured, however, following a medical examination, there is no threat to their lives or health. A fire has broken out on the premises and is being brought under control by the emergency services.
In its system, Ozon designates this object as «MAKHACHKALA RFZ», although it is actually situated in the «Tyube» industrial park in the Kumtor-Kalinsky District.
This is Ozon’s largest warehouse in the North Caucasus
The construction of the complex has become one of the largest logistics projects in Dagestan. The regional authorities have reported that the total area of the site is almost 130,000 m², whilst the initial investment alone was estimated at 9.6 billion roubles.
The first phase of the hub began operations in 2025. In the initial phase, it was capable of handling up to 180,000 orders a day and to stock around 10 million product lines. Following further expansion, the plan was to increase capacity to 900,000 orders a day.
The complex handled significant volumes of Ozon’s goods in the North Caucasus and was set to become one of the marketplace’s key distribution hubs in the region.
The plan was to integrate the hub into the «North–South» corridor»
The significance of the complex extended beyond the scope of domestic Russian logistics.
In 2026, plans were announced to integrate the centre into an international transport corridor «North–South». Minister for Industry and Trade of Dagestan Nizam Khalilov stated that the hub could, in the future, be used to distribute goods to Azerbaijan.
The «North–South» corridor itself runs through Azerbaijan towards Iran, so the centre’s location gave it potential significance for international freight flows heading south. Logistics publications explicitly referred to it as one of the infrastructure components of this transport route.
Overnight, there were reports of attacks on several Ozon hubs at once
Monitoring sources reported on the night of 24 August that there had also been attacks or threats of strikes against Ozon’s logistics centres near Enema in Adygea and Nevinnomyssk in the Stavropol Krai.
Ozon has officially stated that its facilities in Adygea and Nevinnomyssk were evacuated due to the threat posed by UAVs, but no serious damage to the warehouses or goods has been reported there. The attack involving a fire, which the company has confirmed, took place at the Dagestan hub.
