OSINT analysts have identified the point of origin of the fire as a distribution complex Ozon at 3 Industrialnaya Street, within the «Chapaevsk» industrial park. Footage taken by eyewitnesses shows thick black smoke rising above the industrial area.

The company has changed the way it handles deliveries and orders

Ozon has temporarily suspended the receipt of new deliveries to Chapaevsk and the dispatch of goods from the complex. Items that were only available at this warehouse have been removed from the marketplace’s product listings.

The company plans to cancel some of the orders and fulfil others via alternative logistics centres. Shipments that were already on their way to Chapaevsk are being redirected to other sites within the network.

The complex was planned to be one of the largest in the Volga region

The first phase of the centre was launched in October 2022. Once all phases were complete, its planned floor area was set to reach around 135,000 square metres, and the facility itself was described as one of Ozon’s largest hubs in the Volga region.

The exact extent of the damage to the logistics centre is being assessed. That same night, the media and local residents also reported explosions and a fire in the Novokuybyshevsk area.
