Netflix has confirmed that production has begun on the eighth season of the anthology series *Black Mirror*. Filming of the new episodes began in the UK in the summer of 2026. The show’s creator, Charlie Brooker, has returned as a writer and executive producer, whilst the premiere date, cast, number of episodes and storylines have not yet been announced.

A hotel in Devon has been refurbished for a TV series
One of the well-known locations was the coastal village of Hope Cove in Devon. For the purposes of the production, the local Hope Cove House was refurbished and given a new on-screen name — the Sandcastle Hotel.
They were spotted on set Brooker. It has not yet been revealed what story the episode being filmed at this location will tell.
The creative team is working on the new episodes
Bisha K. Ali, also known for the Marvel series *Ms Marvel*, is working alongside Brooker on the eighth series. The executive producers include Jessica Rhodes, Annabel Jones and Louise Sutton, whilst Mark Kinsella is a co-executive producer.
In January, Brucker said he was aiming to make the new series «more Black Mirror than ever». He compared the selection of episodes to a music album, in which the episodes differ in genre and tone but all have their place within the overall structure.
Following the direct sequel to the seventh season, no details of the new series have been revealed
The previous season was released in April 2025. It included «USS Callister: Into Infinity» — the first direct sequel to a standalone episode in the series« history. Brooker had previously mentioned the idea of a sequel to »White Bear’, however Netflix did not confirm that it would be implemented in the new cycle.
The streamer did not specify how long filming would take or when a teaser or trailer might be released.
