The strikes caused fires in the commercial and residential sectors
According to the emergency services, two shops at different addresses caught fire in various parts of Kherson. Separate fires broke out in a residential area: the roof of a house and an outbuilding caught fire.
On 26 August, the Kherson Regional State Administration reported separately that several retail outlets had been completely burnt out as a result of a drone attack on the city’s Central District. The fire was also extinguished by the emergency services; there were no casualties.

Units from the State Emergency Service arrived at the sites of the strikes and began firefighting operations. Whilst the emergency services were dealing with the aftermath, Russian troops repeatedly attempted to launch further attacks on them FPV drones.
Despite the danger, the rescue teams continued their work and extinguished all the fires. Following this, the main operations at the impact sites were completed.
According to the Kherson Regional State Administration, between 17 and 23 August, Russian forces deployed 6,434 FPV drones and drop-type munitions against communities in the region. The regional authorities stated that the Defence Forces had destroyed or neutralised 6,011 such targets; these figures relate to the entire region over the course of the week, rather than the current attack.
