Russian Federation losses as of 2 September: the Ukrainian Armed Forces have eliminated a further 1,390 invaders and nearly 2,000 UAVs

Over the past 24 hours, the Defence Forces have destroyed 1,390 Russian soldiers, 1,969 UAVs and 62 artillery systems.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia’s total combat losses in the war against Ukraine stood at around 1,491,030 military personnel as of 2 September 2026. In the past 24 hours alone, the Ukrainian Defence Forces have destroyed a further 1,390 Russian soldiers, as well as a significant amount of equipment and weaponry.

Over the past 24 hours, Russia has lost nearly 2,000 UAVs

The largest increase over the past 24 hours was recorded in the drones category.

Losses of armoured vehicles and motor vehicles

As at 2 September, the Russian Federation’s total losses in armoured vehicles and motorised transport are estimated as follows:

  • tanks 12 324 (+4);
  • armoured combat vehicles 25 263 (+6);
  • special equipment - the 4 625 (+2);
  • automotive equipment and tankers 142 715 (+383);
  • ground-based robotic systems — 2 464 (+12).

Artillery, air defence and missiles

In the artillery systems category, Russia’s total losses amounted to 49,016 units, of which 62 — over the past 24 hours.

The Russian Federation has also lost:

  • MLRS 2 081 (+2);
  • Air defence assets - 1 598 (+1);
  • Cruise missiles 5 070 (+10).

Air Force and Navy

The number of Russian aircraft and helicopters destroyed in the past 24 hours has not changed.

In total, since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has lost:

  • aeroplanes 440;
  • helicopters 354;
  • ships and boats 35;
  • submarines - the 2.

The General Staff emphasises that Information on enemy casualties is being clarified and updated.

As of 2 September 2026, the Russian Federation’s heaviest daily losses were in personnel, drones, artillery and vehicles.
