The main stage Champions League The 2026/27 season runs from 8 September 2026 to 27 January 2027. Each of the 36 clubs will play eight matches against different opponents: four at home and four away.
Following the conclusion of the eight rounds, the top eight teams in the overall table will qualify directly for the round of 16. Clubs ranked ninth to 24th will contest two-legged play-off ties for the remaining places in this stage, whilst the rest will be eliminated from European competition.
Following the group stage, there will be two-legged ties in the round of 16, the quarter-finals and the semi-finals. The Final will consist of a single match and will take place on 5 June 2027 at the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid.
