The second series of the crime drama «MobLand» premiered on Paramount+ on 18 September. Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren have all returned to their roles, and the new season once again centres on the struggle for control of the Harrigan family’s criminal empire. The premiere episode is already available to stream, and the season will consist of 10 episodes in total.

What will the second series be about?
Once again, the Harrigan family finds itself at the centre of the story as it tries to maintain control over its criminal enterprise.
Following the events of the first season finale, tensions are mounting within the clan, whilst external rivals sense a weakness and are trying to capitalise on the situation. Harry da Souza, played by Thomas Hardy Once again, he takes on the role of «fixer» — the person responsible for sorting out the family’s most dangerous problems. Pierce Brosnan returned to the role of Conrad Harrigan, and Glen Mirren — his wife, Maeve.
According to Paramount+’s official description, this time the conflict will be even more far-reaching: Harrigan will have to contend with both his rivals and internal divisions at the same time.
The second series received a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes
At the start of the season Rotten Tomatoes shows 100% positive reviews from critics. However, it is important to bear in mind that the ranking is based solely on five reviews, so the figure may still change once new reviews are published.
Critics who have already reviewed the series’ second series highlight its more confident pace, dark humour, cast and the development of the crime storyline. By way of comparison, the first series has 77% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, whilst the series’ overall rating on IMDb currently stands at around 8.3 marks.
Tom Hardy is once again playing Harry da Souza
Tom Hardy remains one of the main reasons for the series’ popularity. His character, Harry da Souza, is an experienced go-between and enforcer who sorts out the Harrigans’ problems and constantly finds himself caught between the interests of various parties.
In the second series, his situation becomes even more complicated: tensions within the family mount, new enemies emerge, and old alliances begin to crumble.
The cast also saw the return of Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Jazmin Jobson and others.
When will the next episodes be released?
The second series consists of 10 episodes. The first episode premiered on 18 September, and new episodes will be released every Friday. The season finale is scheduled for 20 November 2026.
The schedule is as follows: the second series will be released on 25 September, the third on 2 October, and the fourth on 9 October.

«Gangsterland» has already been extended
The story of the Harrigans won’t end with the second series. Paramount+ has already confirmed that MobLand has been renewed for a third series. The exact release date has not yet been announced. As such, «Gangsterland» remains one of Paramount+’s key crime series, and the strong opening figures for the second series show that interest in the show has not waned since the first series.
