The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has standardised and approved the Ukrainian-built UAT.GYURZA-01 PICKUP armoured pick-up for supply to the Armed Forces. Based on the Dodge RAM 5500, the vehicle was designed to transport personnel and cargo and to carry out missions in combat zones. It features bulletproof, fragmentation-resistant and mine-resistant protection.

Codification means the official recognition of a vehicle as a model of military equipment. Following this, it may be included in the list of military supplies and procured in accordance with established procedures.
The armoured pick-up was developed Ukrainian manufacturers taking into account the military’s need for durable and easy-to-maintain vehicles. According to the Ministry of Defence, the vehicle demonstrated the claimed performance and capabilities during testing.
Capacity, load capacity and off-road capability
The UAT.GYURZA-01 PICKUP weighs more than 8 tonnes. The vehicle is capable of carrying up to five fully equipped soldiers and nearly 2 tonnes of cargo.
The maximum speed is up to 110 km/h. The range is approximately 800 km on unpaved roads and up to 1,000 km on paved roads. The vehicle is designed for use off-road, in marshy areas and other challenging terrain.
Protection and on-board equipment
The hull provides Level 2 ballistic and fragmentation protection in accordance with STANAG 4569, and Level 3a and 3b mine protection under the same standard. The vehicle also features a reinforced body, durable components and readily available spare parts and consumables.
Standard equipment includes an external surveillance system, a CCTV system, electronic countermeasures, fire suppression systems for the cab and engine compartment, ventilation, air conditioning and a powerful winch. If required, the vehicle can be fitted with a semi-automatic tyre inflation system, a debris deflector and a filter-ventilation unit.
