Marco Rubio: US preparing changes to «peace proposals» after Geneva talks

After the talks in Geneva, the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the US «peace proposals» would include certain changes. He said this in a commentary quoted by European Pravda.

According to Rubio, the US side is working on an updated version of the document, which takes into account the proposals of all parties involved.
«We have a very good working version that has already been created based on the proposals of all relevant parties involved in this process. We were able to address some of these issues, point by point. And I think we have made a lot of progress.», - said the Secretary of State.

Context.

Rubio stressed that negotiating teams are now working on «some of the proposals that we were given», and clarified that the discussion is ongoing in an intensive mode.

The previous days were marked by a series of disagreements between the US and its European partners over the details of the «peace plan». Some European capitals insist on providing security guarantees for Ukraine, EU control over frozen Russian assets, and the prevention of a forced retreat of Ukrainian forces.

The final text of the document has not yet been agreed upon. Rubio's statements show that Washington is ready to consider some of the European amendments and move towards a common position.
