
The Rada supported the draft budget for 2026 in the second reading
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved in the second reading the draft state budget for 2026. The following voted in favour of the document 261 people's deputies, reports Public.
The review was held as part of the scheduled agenda, after the discussion of key provisions and amendments to the draft law was completed.
What the draft budget envisages
Although the full text of the adopted document will be made public later, it is known that the government has set the following priorities in the 2026 budget:
financing of the security and defence sector;
support for critical infrastructure and energy;
Continuation of social programmes;
economic recovery and modernisation;
Increasing resources for education and healthcare.
The government also stressed that the budget was formed taking into account the military situation and the need to stabilise the financial system.
Context.
Budget 2026 is one of the key financial documents for planning public spending during a full-scale war. The second reading actually determines the final configuration of the main funding items before the law is adopted as a whole.
The third reading of the 2026 budget and its final adoption are expected to take place in the near future.
