There is a vision of the US, Russia and Ukraine, and we do not have a single opinion on Donbas - Zelenskyy

Kyiv, Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that during the negotiations between the United States, Russia and Ukraine there is no single common position on the future of Donbas. He said this in a commentary to Ukrainian media, emphasising the complexity of the negotiation process.

According to the President, each side has its own vision of how to end the war and the status of the occupied regions.
Ukraine, Zelenskyy stressed, insists on the full restoration of its territorial integrity, while Russia continues to make unacceptable demands. The United States, for its part, is proposing its own peace framework, but it also needs to be refined to take into account Ukrainian interests.

The President noted that discussions are ongoing, but «there is no agreed position on Donbas yet».

Context.

The statement came amid intensified international negotiations to end the war and the preparation of new diplomatic proposals. Washington and European capitals continue to discuss the formats of security guarantees for Ukraine.
