SBU destroys gas terminal in Temryuk: fire lasted three days
In the port Temryuk A large-scale fire in the Kuban continued after a drone attack by the Security Service of Ukraine. As a result of the attack more than 20 out of 30 tanks caught fire at a liquefied natural gas transshipment terminal.
The fire was so powerful that it took a long time to extinguish three days. According to intelligence sources, the strike targeted the infrastructure used by Russia for the logistics of energy resources.
Consequences of the attack
According to preliminary estimates, it was completely destroyed:
railway tanks,
an intermediate refuelling tank,
a stormwater overpass,
part of the terminal's utilities.
The total area of the fire reached approx. 3,000 m².
The occupation services were unable to quickly localise the fire due to the high volume of fuel and the density of the tanks.
Context.
Temryuk is one of the key ports for transporting energy resources in the region. In recent months, Ukrainian special services have been regularly conducting targeted strikes on logistics facilities of strategic importance to the aggressor's military economy.
