The FSA and the Black Spark rebel movement destroyed Russian ships transporting weapons between Iran and Russia

Ukraine's Special Operations Forces in cooperation with the insurgency «Black Spark» conducted a successful operation in Caspian Sea, by destroying Russian vessels used to transport weapons between Iran and Russia.

According to preliminary data, the rebels provided the FDS with critical information - the route of the vessels and the nature of the cargo. This made it possible to carry out precise strike and decommission the vessels.

Which vessels are affected

Two Russian ships were damaged:

• «The Composer Rachmaninoff»
• «Askar-Sarija»

Both vessels were previously subject to US sanctions, The latter were used to transport military cargo between Iran and Russia.

According to experts, a strike on these vessels would significantly complicate the schemes of military and logistics cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.

Context.

- The Caspian direction has become an important component of Russia's logistics after the blockade of the Black Sea.
- It is not the first time that the Black Spark insurgency has helped Ukraine in conducting deep operations.
- In recent months, the United States and its allies have been systematically imposing sanctions on ships involved in the illegal transport of weapons.
