UK Defence Secretary says he would «kidnap Putin» to bring him to justice

Minister of Defence of the United Kingdom John Healy said that in the event of a hypothetical possibility of kidnapping any world leader, he would choose Vladimir Putin, to bring him to justice for crimes against Ukraine.

«If I could kidnap any world leader, I would choose Putin,» Healy said after seeing the massive destruction caused by Russian strikes in Kyiv.

According to the minister, such a step would make it possible to ensure that the Russian leadership is held accountable for war crimes and aggression against Ukraine.

Healy stressed that what he saw in the Ukrainian capital made a strong impression on him. This includes destroyed civilian infrastructure, residential areas and the consequences of Russia's regular attacks on civilians.

The British minister stressed that the international community should increase pressure on the Kremlin, in particular through sanctions, military support for Ukraine and international justice mechanisms.
