Ukraine prepares a new round of talks after meetings in Geneva
The next round of talks took place in Geneva, Switzerland, in two formats - separately with the US side and in a trilateral format with the US and Switzerland. This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian delegation Rustem Umerov.
Details of the negotiations
According to Umerov, the work was carried out in two parallel formats, which allowed for a substantive discussion of key issues.
After the meetings, the Ukrainian side, together with David Arahamia and representatives of the United States held a joint conversation with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the results and next steps.
The next round is being prepared
The head of the delegation confirmed that preparations for the next stage of negotiations are already underway.
The parties are working on:
security parameters;
economic solutions;
agreed positions for future agreements.
The goal is to make the upcoming trilateral meeting between the US and Russia as substantive as possible.
Economic bloc and reconstruction
Special attention was paid to the economic direction and long-term support for Ukraine.
Together with the government's economic team, in particular Alexey Sobolev, and American partners, the parties worked out a document on the restoration of Ukraine.
Following the meeting, it was agreed to continue detailed work on the reconstruction and investment plan.
Context.
Geneva remains one of the key diplomatic platforms for coordinating the positions of Ukraine and its allies amid the ongoing war.
It is expected that the next rounds of negotiations may specify the security and economic parameters of future agreements.
