For the first time, Ukraine has tested an artificial intelligence turret to combat enemy drones in combat conditions. According to Mykhailo Fedorov, the technology allows for autonomous detection and destruction of UAVs, significantly increasing the effectiveness of defence.

Ukrainian AI turret at the frontline

New turret with artificial intelligence, developed by one of the platform's members Brave1, was first tested in combat conditions by the K-2 brigade. The system is capable of detecting, tracking and calculating the trajectory of an enemy drone. The operator only needs to confirm the target's defeat at the touch of a button.

According to the information, we are the minister of defence Mikhail Fedorov, This turret is already in use in more than 10 units in the hottest areas of the frontline. The technology allows us to destroy even drones that operate on optical channels, which significantly expands the capabilities to counter UAVs.

Technological advantages of the system

The turret's autonomous operation is ensured by integrated artificial intelligence that analyses drone flight paths in real time. This minimises the human factor and speeds up the response to threats. The use of such a system reduces the risks for operators, as they require only minimal intervention.

A special feature of the development is the ability to detect and defeat drones even when the enemy actively uses optical systems. This significantly increases the effectiveness of defending Ukrainian positions from drone attacks.

Implementation on the front line

After successful combat use in the K-2 brigade, the artificial intelligence turret is being gradually introduced to units operating in the most dangerous areas of the frontline. The system has already proved its effectiveness in real combat conditions.

The use of innovative technology allows the Ukrainian military to more effectively combat mass drone attacks, which have become one of the key threats on the modern battlefield. The use of AI in countering UAVs opens up new opportunities to improve defence capabilities.

Why it matters

The introduction of an artificial intelligence turret is a significant step in the technological strengthening of the Ukrainian army. It will not only reduce losses from drone attacks but also improve the safety of personnel.

Such a system could become an example for other units and even international partners in the field of modern military equipment. The use of innovative solutions on the battlefield underscores Ukraine's ability to quickly introduce advanced technologies to protect its positions.
