Presley Gerber's family have confirmed his death

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has reported that Gerber died on Sunday, 20 September 2026, at a rehabilitation centre. He was 27 years old. The cause of death has not yet been officially announced.
TMZ reports on a suspected overdose
According to TMZ, which cites sources familiar with the circumstances of the death, the family have been told that the probable cause may have been overdose. However, this is not yet the official conclusion of the forensic pathologist.
An autopsy and toxicological tests are expected to be carried out to establish the exact cause of death and determine which substances may have been present in Gerber’s body. Therefore, the claim of an overdose should currently be regarded as a preliminary theory.
Presley spoke openly about his addiction
In recent years, Herber has spoken publicly about his struggles with addiction and mental health. In the spring, he spoke about his experience of another course of treatment and wrote that he hoped this would be his last attempt at rehabilitation.
In 2025, Presley also launched a series Mental Health Mondays, in which he spoke about topics which, he said, people often try to hide. He described the aim of the project as having an open conversation about mental health.

Presley was the eldest of two children Cindy Crawford and Randy Gerber. His younger sister, Kaya, has also made a career in the modelling industry and film.
Presley himself began working as a model whilst still a teenager. He worked with Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and other well-known brands.
In 2018, Gerber also appeared alongside his mother in a commercial Pepsi, which was shown during Super Bowl LII.
