Russia’s large-scale night-time attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region has caused significant delays to passenger train services. Delays on some services exceed 8 hours.

A night-time attack by the Russian Federation brought rail traffic to a standstill
Massive combined attack Russia’s attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region on the night of 5–6 July led to significant disruptions to rail services. According to Ukrzaliznytsia, traffic was temporarily restricted on certain sections in the Kyiv region due to security measures and the work of State Emergency Service rescue teams. To maintain services, some trains were diverted via alternative routes, which significantly increased journey times.
Flight delays
As of the morning of 6 July, delays have been reported on dozens of services. For example, train No. 85/86 from Lviv to Zaporizhzhia is delayed by more than 8 hours, and train No. 43/44 from Dnipro to Ivano-Frankivsk by around 8 hours. Other services, such as No. 127/128 Dnipro–Lviv and No. 37/38 Zaporizhzhia–Kyiv, are also experiencing delays of over 7 hours.
In addition, trains to Kharkiv, Lviv, Uzhhorod, Mukachevo, Przemyśl, Chełm, Warsaw, Vienna and other cities are running with delays of between one and five hours. The cause of most of the delays is «Ukrzaliznytsia» refers to the impact of hostilities and, for certain international flights, also to passing through border control.
Changes to routes and bus services
Due to traffic restrictions, some trains have been diverted via alternative routes. All key stations along the routes remain in service, although arrival times may vary. On the Fastiv line, where commuter services are disrupted, a bus service has been organised in conjunction with the Kyiv Regional State Administration to run between Boyarka and Kyiv.
Advice for passengers
Ukrzaliznytsia emphasises that the situation remains fluid. The arrival and departure times of individual services may change depending on the security situation and the progress of restoration work. Passengers are advised to check the information on the carrier’s official services before travelling.
