What restrictions are planned?
«Ukrenergo» has set out the extent of the restrictions for all categories of consumers in certain regions. The nationwide announcement does not contain a list of regions or specific timetables.
Schedules for hourly power cuts have been drawn up for domestic customers. For industrial enterprises and businesses, power restriction schedules will be applied — reducing the permitted volume of electricity consumption.
What does ‘up to two queues’ mean?
Rotation groups are groups of consumers subject to scheduled restrictions at specific times in order to balance the electricity system. The scope of up to two rotation groups describes the scale of simultaneous restrictions, but does not determine the duration of the power cut for a specific flat or house.
The fact that the schedules apply round the clock means that restrictions may be in place at various times throughout the day and night. The specific timetable depends on the queue and the decision of the local distribution system operator.
According to the State Energy Regulatory Authority, whilst the hourly power cut schedules are in force A single power cut during wartime must not exceed six hours, with a possible deviation of up to one hour. Following this, there must be at least two hours of electricity supply, excluding the time taken for the switch-over; unforeseen changes may affect the actual timetable.
Where can I check my place in the queue?
The exact time of the power cut and your in turn Please check the official channels of your local distribution system operator or regional electricity company. Schedules may be subject to change throughout the day depending on the situation in the power system.
Ukrenergo attributes the need for restrictions to the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks on energy infrastructure. The company is also urging consumers to use electricity sparingly.
