Rescue workers have completed the operation to extinguish a large-scale fire that broke out following a Russian attack on the night of 19 July in the Bucha district of the Kyiv region. The fire engulfed two warehouse buildings covering an area of around 100,000 square metres. The operation lasted more than a day, according to the State Emergency Service. Two people were injured as a result of the attack.

More than a day spent extinguishing the fire and dismantling the structures
More than 200 rescue workers and around 70 pieces of specialist equipment, including aircraft and robotic technology, were deployed to tackle the fire. According to information previously provided by the rescue services, three helicopters were also operating at the scene.
Now that the active phase of firefighting has been completed, the specialists are continuing to dismantle and douse the building structures. This is necessary to eliminate any smouldering hotspots and ensure the safety of operations at the damaged site.
Damaged warehouses and two people injured
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has reported that two have been destroyed in the Bucha district warehouse buildings, a further five storage facilities were damaged. Patrol officers, investigative teams, bomb disposal experts and rescue workers were at the scene following the attack.
According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the woman suffered from smoke inhalation; following a medical examination, she was discharged home. The man, who had sustained multiple shrapnel wounds, was admitted to the regional hospital.
