According to updated information from the Kherson Defence Forces, Russian troops carried out two launches of guided aerial bombs. During the second air strike, six strikes were recorded.
Five CABs were directed at the centre of Kherson, whilst four more were aimed at the Ostriv neighbourhood in the Korabelny district. The reports did not specify the impact site of another of the ten aerial bombs mentioned.
In the city centre, munitions struck a residential area and the grounds of an educational establishment. The educational establishment’s building sustained significant damage. Private and block-of-flats residential buildings were also damaged. Local authorities have reported on the consequences.
The number of casualties has risen to seven
As of 15:12, seven residents of Kherson were reported to have been injured. Medical assistance was required for three women aged 62, 69 and 83, and four men aged 52, 54, 56 and 59.
The victims were diagnosed with blast injuries, concussions, shrapnel wounds, bruises and acute stress reaction. Some of the injured were prescribed outpatient treatment. Information regarding the consequences of the attack may be updated.

A video filmed from a bird’s-eye view has appeared on social media. The footage shows several plumes of smoke rising almost simultaneously above the city’s buildings.
It is not possible to independently determine the exact location of each explosion from a single video recording. The fact that there were ten air strikes on Kherson and that civilian infrastructure was damaged has been officially confirmed.
Russian aircraft have been attacking the community for the second day running
The day before, on 22 July, Russian aircraft carried out several attacks on Zelenivka in the Kherson community. The strikes caused damage to residential buildings.
The massive strike on 23 July was a continuation of the air strikes on Kherson and its suburbs. Local authorities are urging residents to seek shelter immediately when warnings of guided missile launches are issued, and not to remain near windows.
