Attack on Kyiv: destruction in the Podilskyi district
On the night of 6 July, Russian forces launched an attack on Kyiv, resulting in serious damage to a high-rise residential block in the Podil district of the capital. The explosion destroyed several storeys of the building. According to the mayor Vitali Klitschko, there may be people trapped under the rubble.
The rescue operation is ongoing
Units from the State Emergency Service, medical staff, police and other emergency services are working at the scene of the incident. Rescue workers are clearing the rubble and searching for victims. Details regarding the number of casualties and the extent of the damage are still being confirmed.
