Over the past 24 hours, Kharkiv and 23 settlements in the Kharkiv region have come under Russian attack. Eighteen people were injured, including a 16-year-old boy, according to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration. In the city and several districts of the region, residential buildings, vehicles, businesses, power networks and other infrastructure have been damaged.

Several waves of attacks in Kharkiv

On the afternoon of 15 July, a guided aerial bomb struck the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv. According to Suspilne, citing rescue workers, no fire broke out at the scene. Among the nine people injured was a 16-year-old boy with shrapnel wounds; medics assessed his condition as non-serious.

As a result of this strike, a civilian administrative and industrial building, an industrial hangar and seven vehicles were damaged. On the night of 16 July, the city was again attacked by strike drones. The mayor Igor Terekhov reported strikes in the Kyivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Nemyshlianskyi districts; in the Nemyshlianskyi district, he had previously reported a strike on a residential building.

Those injured in communities across the region

In the village of Yuriyivka, in the Velykoburlutsk community, a drone struck a utility company’s service vehicle. Three employees were injured — a 33-year-old man and two 52-year-old men; Suspilne reported that they all suffered blast injuries.

In the village of Gusynka, two women aged 59 and 77 and a 90-year-old man were injured. In the village of Shevchenkove, a 66-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man were injured, and in Bohodukhiv, a 57-year-old man was injured.

The extent of the damage in the regions

The OVA reported the use of three guided aerial bombs and five UAVs of the «Geranium-2», 11 «Molniya» drones, 12 FPV drones and 44 UAVs, the type of which is being determined. Damage was recorded in Kharkiv and the Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk, Izium, Kharkiv, Lozova and Chuhuiv districts.

Among the damaged properties are blocks of flats and private houses, cars, medical and educational establishments, railway infrastructure, power lines, a municipal utility company, petrol stations, as well as civilian businesses. In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv, according to the mayor, a cinema, a car park and tennis courts have been damaged; another strike was recorded on the premises of a garage co-operative.

The evacuation via Lozova is ongoing

The transit evacuation centre in Lozova took in 213 people over the past 24 hours. Since the centre opened, 45,953 people have been registered there.

In the Kupiansk sector, according to a report from the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Russian forces launched three attacks on 15 July in the Podoliv area and in the direction of Shyikivka. This combination of combat activity and regular strikes explains why the evacuation route through Lozova remains heavily used.
