Russia declares terror against Ukraine
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the launch of «consistent systemic strikes» against Kyiv, in particular against military-industrial enterprises and decision-making centres.
The Russian foreign minister also called on the US to urgently evacuate its citizens and diplomats from Kyiv, as part of a Russian information campaign.
Ukrainian response to Russia's threats
Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga said that Russian threats are intended to intimidate Western diplomats, but Ukraine does not believe in their effectiveness. He stressed that Ukraine's response is to counteract this blackmail.
“Our reaction was demonstrated today, when I invited the heads of more than 70 diplomatic missions to visit the sites of massive Russian strikes,” Sibiga said.
Why Ukraine urges not to succumb to blackmail
According to the minister, the world should act in the opposite way to what the Kremlin wants to see. He stressed that the world's response should be proportionate to Russia's actions, including additional aid packages and sanctions.
Sibiga noted that Putin will not achieve its goals by military means, and noted the damage caused to the Russian economy by Ukraine's successful counterattacks.
Diplomatic activity in Kyiv
After the Russian strikes on Kyiv, more than 70 diplomatic representatives were invited to inspect the damage sites, including in the Lukianivka area, as part of Ukraine's official response to the threat.
This step is intended to demonstrate to Western partners the real state of affairs and strengthen their support for Ukraine in countering Russian aggression.
