The United Arab Emirates has arrested 10 people for distributing videos of attacks and air defence operations, as well as fake videos created using artificial intelligence. According to the prosecutor's office, the suspects have been referred to court.

Arrests for distributing video attacks

The UAE authorities announced the arrest of 10 people who published videos with real footage of air defence operations and fabricated videos. Some of the videos contained images of explosions, fires and strikes on the territory of the country.

According to the prosecutor's office, the materials distributed included both real recordings and videos created using artificial intelligence. The authorities stressed that such actions could mislead the public.

Charges and possible penalties

The suspects were referred to court. Under local law, the dissemination of such materials is punishable by a minimum of one year in prison and a fine of 27 thousand dollars.

The authorities stated that the publication of such videos creates panic among the population and could threaten national security. Officials are urging citizens to refrain from spreading unverified information.
