Prices in Ukraine soared: what went up the most

In Ukraine, food prices during the full-scale war have increased by about 74%. Fruit, fish and fish products, as well as butter, have risen in price the most. This was reported by analysts Centre for Economic Strategy. According to the published data, fruit went up by 153%, fish and fish products - for 104%, а butter - for 95%.

Fuel and tobacco prices also rose significantly

In addition to food, prices in other categories of consumer goods also rose significantly.

In particular:

  • cigarettes went up by 122%;

  • petrol, diesel and autogas - for 98%.

Economists note that rising fuel costs affect prices in most sectors of the economy, including logistics and transportation of goods.


Details of the study

According to analysts, overall, consumer prices in Ukraine have risen by about 61%.

The biggest impact on inflation was the following:

  • destruction of energy infrastructure due to Russian shelling;

  • higher electricity and fuel prices;

  • problems with logistics;

  • Losses in agricultural production due to hostilities and land mines.

Experts also note that certain goods are rising faster due to seasonal factors, lower yields and higher production costs.
