Ukrainian defence forces hit key military facilities of Russian troops in the temporarily occupied territories. In particular, the radar complex «Valdai» and the Forpost UAV control station in Crimea. They also struck a command post and an ammunition depot in Donetsk region.
The destruction of Russian military facilities in Crimea
On the night of 27 March Defence forces Ukraine attacked Russian military facilities in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. The Russian Valdai radar system near Hvardiyske was damaged. According to the Ukrainian military, this system is designed to detect and counter small UAVs.
A ground control station of the Forpost UAV was damaged in Yevpatoriya. The extent of the damage is being clarified.
Strikes on command posts and warehouses in Donetsk region
Ukrainian troops struck at the enemy's command post near Olhynka in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region. The enemy's ammunition depot near Mangush in Donetsk region was also hit.
According to the General Staff, the strikes were aimed at reducing the combat capability of Russian units in these areas.
Context.
Russia is actively using modern radar systems and UAVs to control the temporarily occupied territories. The destruction of such facilities affects the enemy's ability to reconnoiter and control drones.
The operations of Ukrainian forces in the TOT are aimed at weakening the logistics and control of Russian troops.
