On the morning of 27 September, during yet another Russian drone attack on Kyiv, the Kyivstar head office building was damaged. The mobile operator’s press office confirmed the attack. The company stated that all staff are safe. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.
«Kyivstar» has confirmed damage to its head office
Ukrainian media were the first to report the attack on the building. The company itself later confirmed the information.
«Today, the Kyivstar head office building in Kyiv was damaged as a result of an enemy attack,“ the operator’s press office reported
The company added that the staff were unharmed and are safe. The operator’s team assesses the damage caused and coordinates further action.
As at the time of publication, «Kyivstar»… did not report any widespread disruption to mobile phone or internet services as a result of this particular strike.".
The attack took place during a morning drone raid
Russian drones attacked Kyiv on the night of 27 September and continued their strikes in the morning.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital, a drone struck a non-residential building. At least three people were injured. During the night in the Solomyanskyi district There were also hits — in particular, on a warehouse building, where a fire broke out.
Suspilne has confirmed that the damage to Kyivstar’s head office occurred precisely during the Russian Federation’s drone attack on 27 September.
Some media outlets refer to the drone as a «Shahed», but the company itself did not specify the exact type of drone in its statement.
This is not the first attack on Kyivstar’s infrastructure«
In September, Russian attacks have already targeted facilities linked to Ukraine’s largest mobile operator on several occasions.
11 September «Kyivstar» reported that its engineering team’s office in Kyiv had been damaged following a drone attack. No staff were injured, and the network continued to operate as normal.
17 September In the Kyiv region, a building housing the operator’s equipment was damaged. In that instance, too, no staff were injured, and services to subscribers continued without interruption.
The damage to the head office on 27 September was therefore at least the third confirmed incident in a month in which Russian strikes had hit Kyivstar facilities.
