Today, the HACC approved a plea agreement in the corruption case at the Odesa Port Plant. The state will receive more than UAH 77 million in damages, and another UAH 50 million will be allocated to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The defendants pleaded guilty in full and agreed to the agreed sentence.
HACCU approves agreement in OPP case
The High Anti-Corruption Court today approved a plea agreement in the case of a corruption scheme at the Odesa Port Plant. The case concerns the events of 2015, when the company's products were sold at below-market prices, which led to significant losses for the state.
The state will receive over UAH 77 million
As part of the approved agreement, the defendants must reimburse the state UAH 77,537,184 in damages in full. In addition, another UAH 50 million will be allocated to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the UNITED24 platform.
Sentences and punishment of the defendants in the case
A Member of Parliament of the VIII convocation, a former deputy director and a former head of the OPP department, as well as the co-organisers of the scheme, were sentenced. Some of the defendants were released from punishment due to the expiry of the statute of limitations, while others were placed on probation for two years.
