Thunderstorms, hail and squalls to hit Ukraine on 19 May

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre warns of thunderstorms, hail and wind gusts in the central and southern regions of Ukraine. The western part of the country will be spared from the weather.

Tomorrow, 19 May, thunderstorms are expected in most regions of Ukraine, with hail and strong winds in some places. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre, only the western regions will be affected by the weather, with temperatures ranging from +18 to +29 degrees depending on the region.

According to Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre, According to the National Weather Service, tomorrow, 19 May, most regions of Ukraine will be affected by unstable weather. Thunderstorms are expected, and hail and wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are possible in some areas of the central and southern regions. The western part of the country will be left out of this wave of bad weather, creating a sharp contrast in weather conditions between the regions.

Temperature indicators by region

At night, in most regions, thermometers will show +11...+16°. During the day, temperatures will reach +21...+26°, which is typical for mid-May. In the west of the country, it will be cooler: during the day, forecasters predict +18...+23°.

In contrast, significant warming is expected in the east and north-east of Ukraine. In some places, the temperature will rise to +29°, which is significantly higher than the daily average for this time of year.

Residents of the central and southern regions should be especially careful, where not only thunderstorms but also hail with wind gusts of up to 15-20 m/s are possible.
