The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has stated that the pace of the Russian advance has slowed considerably. Despite this, Russia is not abandoning its objectives and continues to launch attacks using various methods.
- The pace of the Russian troops’ advance has more than halved.
- Syrsky emphasised that a turning point in the war has not yet been reached.
- Russia is attempting to occupy the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
- The number of air strikes by Russia is on the rise.
- The occupiers are attacking civilian infrastructure.
Syryskyi assessed the situation on the front line
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky stated that the pace of Russian troops’ advance on the front line had been reduced by more than half. This achievement was made possible by the efforts of the Ukrainian military; however, Syrskyi emphasises that this does not yet signify a turning point in the war. The military command points out that Russia’s offensive capabilities remain intact.
Russia has not changed its strategic plans
The Kremlin continues to seek the complete occupation of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Syrskyi said. In addition, Russian troops are attempting to expand their offensive operations in the Dnipropetrovsk region and step up the pressure in the Zaporizhzhia sector. Russia is also establishing and expanding a buffer zone in the northern regions of Ukraine. Despite suffering losses and a slowdown in the pace of its advance, the enemy has not abandoned its military plans.
The number of air strikes is on the rise
Syrskyi highlighted the intensification of aerial attacks by Russia. The occupying forces are making increasingly frequent use of attack drones, various types of missiles and guided aerial bombs. The number of attacks on civilian infrastructure is rising, leading to numerous crimes against the civilian population. Despite everything, Ukrainian forces continue to hold the enemy at bay, but the situation remains difficult and requires further international support.
