Chernev's statement
People's Deputy Chernev said that official agreements on the transfer of missiles to Ukraine «Tomahawk» has been temporarily suspended. According to him, at this stage of delivery not sanctioned at the international level.
«The issue of Tomahawk delivery has been put on hold due to incomplete bureaucratic procedures and disagreements among the allies,“ Chernev said.
Reasons for the pause
According to the MP, the obstacles include:
Disagreements between partners on control over the use of weapons
Clarification of technical and logistical aspects - to whom it is transferred, how it is transported, where it is stored
Possible political nuances: some member states of the defence coalition are hesitant to support such a delivery
Issues of guarantees, export licences and risk insurance
Chernev noted that the solution can still be restarted, but it is currently on hold.
Reaction and consequences
The appearance of such information raised questions among experts and journalists:
Will the pause remain long?
How will this affect the effectiveness of the Armed Forces' strike capabilities in future operations?
Can other types of missiles (Long-Range, ATACMS, etc.) compensate for the absence of Tomahawks?
So far, the relevant ministries and the Presidential Administration have not provided any official confirmation or denial.
