The EVA distribution centre in Brovary was attacked

On the morning of 18 August, the EVA distribution centre in Brovary was hit as a result of a Russian attack. The company itself has officially confirmed that the facility was damaged.

This logistics centre is used both to supply EVA’s retail shops with goods and to support the EVA.UA online shop.

A fire broke out on the premises following the strike. Units from the State Emergency Service are working at the scene. The company stated that the Russian drone attack was still ongoing at the time of the initial report, which hampered the work of the emergency services. According to the information available at this time, no one was injured as a result of the strike.

The fire could have damaged two warehouses at once

The exact extent of the damage at EVA has not yet been disclosed. It will only be possible to fully assess the condition of the distribution centre once the fire has been fully extinguished and the site has been inspected.

The company initially suspects that the fire may have damaged the EVA.UA online shop’s warehouse, as well as the storage facilities from which products are supplied to the chain’s high-street shops. EVA’s logistics infrastructure in Brovary is extensive. According to previously published data, the complex comprised a warehouse serving the retail network, covering an area of around 22,000 square metres, and an e-commerce warehouse of approximately 21,000 square metres.

At present, there is no confirmation as to exactly which part of these facilities and what area were damaged as a result of the attack.

Certain items may be temporarily out of stock in EVA shops

Shoppers may also feel the effects of the strike. The company has warned of possible temporary stock shortages of certain items in some shops. This is because the damaged facility was used to prepare and dispatch goods to the retail network.

At the same time, EVA has not yet reported any widespread product shortages or shop closures. The issue relates specifically to a possible temporary unavailability of certain items.

There may be delays with EVA.UA orders

The attack may also affect customers of the EVA.UA online shop. The company has warned that the fulfilment of some online orders may be delayed. If the consequences of the attack directly affect a specific order, representatives from the EVA contact centre will contact the customer once the situation has been clarified and offer options to resolve the issue.

The company has stated that it is working to minimise the impact of the attack on the running of its shops and the fulfilment of online orders.

Russia has once again attacked Brovary’s logistics infrastructure

The strike on the EVA centre was yet another Russian attack at large warehousing and logistics facilities in Brovary. In early August, a Russian drone struck a ROZETKA warehouse in the town. A company employee was killed, several people were injured and cars were damaged.

As regards today’s incident at EVA, the company has not yet disclosed the final figure for the financial losses. These figures are expected to be announced once the fire has been extinguished and a detailed inspection of the distribution centre has been carried out.
