The Kremlin has stated that Russian strikes on Ukraine will continue, attributing this to attacks on the Russian Federation’s commercial and logistical infrastructure. Commenting on the strikes against Ozon’s warehouses, Vladimir Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Kyiv is «feeling the impact» of Russia’s response every night and «will continue to feel it».

Peskov responded to the attacks on Ozon
24 August Dmitry Peskov commented on a series of Ukrainian strikes on Russian logistics facilities, in particular Ozon marketplace centres.
A Kremlin spokesperson claimed that Ukraine had allegedly provoked the further escalation itself by carrying out strikes on Russian commercial infrastructure.
«The Kyiv regime, which has opened Pandora’s box, is facing the consequences of its actions every night,» said Peskov.
According to RIA Novosti, he added that such «appropriate measures» by Kyiv «will continue to feel». In effect, this statement means that the Kremlin has no intention of halting its air strikes on Ukraine.
At the same time, Russia has been systematically carrying out missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure ever since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022 — long before the current campaign against Russian marketplaces.
The defence forces attacked several Ozon centres at once
On the night of 24 August, large logistics complexes came under attack Ozon in southern Russia. Robert Brovdy, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Force, reported that Ukrainian units had, on the whole, carried out effective operations against 66 objectives behind Russian lines and in the occupied territories.
Among the targets hit were Ozon’s logistics centres, as well as a Russian MiG-29s, four radar systems, troop deployment sites and other military installations.
Separate reports have emerged of fires at major marketplace hubs in Dagestan and Adygheans. Ozon has confirmed attacks on its facilities and the suspension of operations at some of its logistics centres. According to Euronews, a total of four of the company’s hubs in the southern regions of the Russian Federation have been hit or are under threat of attack.
Ukraine attributes the strikes to the use of logistics for the purposes of the war
The Ukrainian side claims that major Russian marketplaces and their logistics networks are being used, in particular, to move dual-use goods and to supply products that could be used by the Russian military.
Following the previous strike on Ozon, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the systematic targeting of dual-use goods storage centres is intended to disrupt Russian logistics and inflict economic losses on the Russian Federation.
On 24 August, the campaign continued: the Unmanned Systems Forces officially reported further strikes on logistical infrastructure, alongside military targets.
Peskov’s statement also suggests that Moscow is using Ukrainian long-range strikes as a public justification for continuing its own missile and drone campaign against Ukraine.
