The results confirmed non-compliance with the requirements of the Technical Regulation on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, approved by Resolution Cabinet of Ministers No. 139. The limits for lead and cadmium laid down in these regulations apply to homogeneous materials within the product.
The lead content in the sample tested was 867,000 mg/kg, compared with a permitted limit of 1,000 mg/kg. The cadmium concentration reached 4,400 mg/kg, whilst the standard stipulates a maximum of 100 mg/kg.
