As a result of the shelling of Kyiv, the data centre of the hosting provider MiroHost has been destroyed, according to Forbes. The main Etherlink node has also been damaged, causing disruptions to internet access, as has the Cityhost data centre. There may be problems accessing websites.

The MiroHost data centre has been destroyed
About consequences of the attack On 24 September, the founder of MiroHost and chairman of Internet Invest announced Oleksandr Olshanskyi. According to him, the data centre housing the company’s Ukrainian operations has been destroyed.
At present, the company has not even given an indicative timeframe for the full restoration of Ukraine’s infrastructure. However, MiroHost’s overseas facilities have not been affected — services operating outside Ukraine continue to function as normal.
MiroHost provides hosting and server colocation services and is part of the Internet Invest group.
Cityhost is restoring services on its overseas servers
Customers also felt the effects of the Russian attack Cityhost. According to the company, at one of the data centres in Kyiv, there was some of the equipment was destroyed.
The Cityhost team has switched to emergency mode and has begun restoring backups on servers located abroad. You may experience difficulties accessing certain websites and services whilst the recovery is underway.

Etherlink has lost access to the main node
The internet service provider’s infrastructure also sustained serious damage Etherlink, which operates, in particular, in the centre of Kyiv. The company reported that the attack resulted in damage to core network node, as a result of which some subscribers lost their internet access.
Etherlink plans to relocate its network core to another site. The provider is already looking for a suitable site, but has not yet given a specific date for the resumption of services.
Internet problems in Kyiv persist following a series of attacks
Damage to the telecommunications infrastructure in the capital was also recorded and 23 September. At that time, the «Web» service providers reported the problems, UTELS and Crazy Network. The first two had their data centres damaged, whilst Crazy Network reported that its Kyiv internet exchange point had been affected.
According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, following the attack on 23 September, problems with internet access in Kyiv and the surrounding region were experienced by approximately 100,000 households.
Following further damage on 24 September, providers are continuing to carry out emergency equipment relocations, reroute traffic and restore services from backup sites. The exact timeframe for the full stabilisation of individual networks currently depends on the extent of the damage.
