From 28 November 2026, Ukrainians will no longer be able to submit their gas meter readings via the usual form on the Naftogaz website. The company has officially announced the discontinuation of this service and recommends using the «Kub» mobile app. However, it is not compulsory to install the app on a smartphone: alternative methods of submitting data remain available to consumers, including via SMS and the contact centre. The deadline for submitting meter readings remains unchanged — from the 1st to the 5th of each month.
- From 28 November, Naftogaz will close the meter reading submission form on its website.
- The main digital service for consumers will be the free mobile app «Kub».
- To transfer data, you need to add a personal account in the app.
- If you do not have a smartphone, you can submit your meter readings via text message or by calling the contact centre.
- The deadlines remain the same — between the 1st and the 5th of each month.
What will change for gas customers from 28 November
A notice has appeared on Naftogaz’s official website stating that meter readings will no longer be accepted via the online form. Users can still use the usual method until 28 November, but after that date the company recommends switching to the «Cube» app».
This does not mean that gas meter readings can only be submitted via a smartphone. The changes relate to a specific online service, rather than the discontinuation of all other service channels.
Furthermore, the company has already stopped accepting reports via the former GASUA chatbots on Viber and Telegram. Their functions have been transferred to a new app, so you should not rely on the old chatbots after the switch.
How to submit your gas meter readings via «Kub»
To use the new service, you need to install the «Kub» app from Google Play or App Store. Once you have opened the app, you will need to register using your mobile phone number and add the personal account used to pay for natural gas.
The nine-digit personal account number can be found on the bill. Once this has been added, the user gains access to information about their gas consumption and the relevant section for submitting meter readings.
In this section, you need to enter your current meter reading and confirm submission. The app also allows you to manage multiple personal accounts, view your payment history and pay your utility bills.
In September, Naftogaz announced an expansion of the «Kuba» app’s features, and from October, residents of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa and Lviv were able to pay for various utility bills within a single app.
How to submit your gas meter reading without a smartphone
For customers who do not use mobile apps, alternative service channels are still available. In particular, meter readings can be submitted via SMS or by contacting the customer service centre.
A short number is used for SMS messages 7104. In the message, you must state your nine-digit account number, leave a space, and enter the meter reading. It is important to check that the figures are correct before sending the message, as any error may affect the recording of your gas consumption.
You can also contact the company’s call centre by telephone. You should check the contact numbers on Naftogaz’s official websites to avoid using out-of-date contact details.
At the same time, the company has confirmed that the old GASUA chatbots for submitting meter readings are no longer in operation, so this method should no longer be considered a viable alternative.
When meter readings need to be submitted
Despite changes to digital services, the set period for submitting meter readings remains unchanged. Consumers must submit their up-to-date details every month between the 1st and the 5th inclusive.
If you do not submit your meter readings on time, your gas consumption may be estimated. In this case, the amount shown on your bill may differ from your actual consumption, and an adjustment will be required once the correct figures have been provided.
The next period for submitting meter readings after the online form closes is 1–5 December 2026. Consumers who have previously used the Naftogaz website should therefore choose a suitable method for submitting their data in advance.
